A2 Key for Schools is a qualification that demonstrates students’ ability to use English in simple situations. It is an ideal next step after completing our Cambridge English Qualifications for young learners. It also provides a valuable opportunity for older children who are beginning their journey in learning the English language.
This exam helps students build the confidence needed to progress to higher-level English exams, such as B1 Preliminary for Schools. Aligned with the CEFR level A2, the exam is specifically designed with content suitable for school-age learners.
A2 Key for Schools qualification shows that students can:
- Understand and use basic phrases and expressions
- Comprehend simple written English
- Introduce themselves and answer basic questions about themselves
- Interact with English speakers at a basic level
