B1 Preliminary for Schools demonstrates that a student has mastered basic English and possesses practical language skills for everyday use. It is the next step after the A2 Key for Schools and prepares students for B2 First for Schools. While aligned with the CEFR level B1, this exam features content specifically designed for school-age learners.
At B1 Preliminary for Schools qualification shows that students can:
- Read simple textbooks and articles in English
- Write letters and emails on everyday topics
- Understand factual information
- Express their opinions in English
- Develop a keen interest in spoken and written English
